Volunteers are the heart, soul, and backbone of our organization; they are the key to success with the participants that we serve.  Over 150 volunteers generously contribute their time to TASP in many forms, whether that be sharing their passion for snow sports, engaging in summer adventures with participants, facilitating special events and fundraisers, or lending a hand in the office.  We are extremely grateful for our dedicated volunteer base; without it, our program would not exist.

SO, HOW DO YOU GET INVOLVED?

We are always accepting new volunteers!

If you are interested in volunteering for TASP this winter, please try to attend our New Volunteer Winter Orientation at 5pm on Thurs, Nov 16th in the Telluride Library.

In the meantime, if you are interested in learning more about upcoming volunteer opportunities (summer or winter!), please call the office at 970.728.2443 or email m.miller@tellurideadaptivesports.org. Thank you all and we hope to see you soon!

Winter Volunteers

If you are interested in volunteering this winter, please fill out our Volunteer Application. Training information will be posted by early November.

To have a general idea of what training will be requested of you, please review last season’s First Year Instructor Training Handbook (page 4 describes the training that we ask of our new volunteers) or the Training Manual (for returning volunteers, or new volunteers who want to further their education). You may also view last season’s training information in calendar form on the Current Instructor page. By early November, you will be able to Register for Training online for the 2017-18 winter season.

For more information, help signing up for a training, or to become a volunteer instructor, please call 970.728.2443 or email m.miller@tellurideadaptivesports.org.

Summer Volunteers

We are offering a number of sport specific trainings at the end of May and the first part of June on how to best assist our clients in activities such as flatwater canoeing/kayaking, rock climbing, and biking as well as first aid and CPR certification classes. Trainings will be posted in calendar form at the bottom of the Current Instructor page. Other opportunities that will be available include hiking, horseback riding, fishing, jeeping, rafting, inclusion lessons, overnight campouts, and more! We encourage all of our instructors to be First Aid and CPR certified and require this certification of all summer Lead Instructors.

For more information, please contact M’Lin at m.miller@tellurideadaptivesports.org or 970-728-2443. Thanks!
