The therapeutic slopes: Telluride Adaptive Sports Program hosts New York City para-athletes

Before visiting Telluride in January 2021, Francesco Magisano had never touched a ski, which meant he had no concept of the length, arc, texture or engineering. Francesco, an elite para-triathlete and para-cyclist, is blind. When he was a child, he didn’t even consider that blind people ran. Now, he skis black diamond runs like he was born on the slopes, and coaches para-athletes of all ages and abilities.
