An adult and a child are skiing on a snowy slope at the Telluride ski area with a forest in the background. The child, wearing a red helmet and colorful jacket, leads the way while the adult, in a white helmet and goggles, points towards something as an adventure opens before them.

SkillBridge for Active-Duty Military

TASP proudly offers seasonal apprenticeships as a Department of Defense’s SkillBridge industry partner.
Applicants must be U.S. service members within 180 days of release.

The apprenticeship is customizable to each individual. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Planning logistics for, coordinating communications, and participating in adaptive military programs during the summer or winter seasons
  • Helping with administrative tasks
  • Assisting in instruction for general adaptive lessons or local programs. Training opportunities would be included as part of the apprenticeship.

Some nights and weekends are required. SkillBridge participants continue to receive military compensation and you are covered by your military benefits.

The apprenticeship does not directly lead to employment. Rather, it offers real experience in adaptive and therapeutic recreation and builds skills transferable to many career paths.
